A turquoise classic car glides through Havana's pastel streets. The nostalgic mood brings wanderlust to living rooms, hallways and home offices.

The eye follows a gently sloping street: in the foreground a turquoise vintage automobile rolls forward, chrome grille gleaming and round headlights catching the light. Behind it, façades line up in salmon pink, mint and weathered cream, with wrought-iron balconies and tangled cables overhead. Far down the avenue, the pale dome of the Capitolio rises through hazy daylight. Muted colours, soft documentary photography.

Above a sideboard, along a stairwell or behind the desk, the scene comes into its own. It suits mid-century furniture, industrial lofts and warm wood tones, opening up cool rooms and lending them a southern, easy-going warmth that lingers.

Cuban joie de vivre that brings a daily hint of travel into the room.
